General Terms and Conditions


1. Scope

These General Terms and Conditions (GTC) apply to all deliveries from Carolina Science GmbH (hereinafter referred to as Carolina) to consumers. A consumer is any natural person who enters into a legal transaction for purposes that are predominantly neither attributable to their commercial nor their self-employed professional activity.


2. Contracting Parties

The purchase agreement is concluded with Carolina Science GmbH (CEO: Jim Parrish, Burlington, North Carolina, USA / Commercial Register: District Court of Berlin Charlottenburg, HRB 117646).


3. Conclusion of Contract

3.1. The presentation of the products in the online shop does not constitute a legally binding offer, but merely an invitation to order.

3.2. By clicking the button [Buy/Order for a fee], you place a binding order for the goods listed on the order page. Your purchase contract is concluded when we accept your order by sending an order confirmation via email immediately after receiving your order.


4. Right of Withdrawal

4.1. If you are a consumer (that is, a natural person who places an order for purposes that cannot be attributed to your commercial or independent professional activity), you have a right of withdrawal in accordance with the statutory provisions.

4.2. If you, as a consumer, exercise your right of withdrawal under section 4.1, you will have to bear the regular costs of returning the goods.

4.3. Furthermore, the regulations for the right of withdrawal are those that are detailed in the following withdrawal instruction. Right of Withdrawal You have the right to withdraw from this contract within fourteen days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period is fourteen days from the day you or a third party designated by you, who is not the carrier, have taken possession of the goods. You may use the attached sample cancellation form for this purpose, although it is not mandatory. You can also fill out and submit the sample cancellation form or another clear statement electronically on our website (www.carolina-science.de). If you take advantage of this option, we will promptly send you a confirmation (e.g., via email) of the receipt of such a cancellation. To meet the cancellation deadline, it is sufficient that you send the notification of the exercise of the right of cancellation before the cancellation period expires.

Consequences of Withdrawal If you withdraw from this contract, we will refund you all payments we have received from you, including delivery costs (except for additional costs resulting from your choice of a delivery method other than the least expensive standard delivery offered by us), without delay and no later than fourteen days from the day we receive the notice of your withdrawal from this contract. For this refund, we will use the same payment method you used for the original transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in no case will you incur any fees for this refund. We may withhold the refund until we have received the goods back or until you have provided proof that you have returned the goods, whichever is earlier. You must return the goods without delay and in any case no later than fourteen days from the day you inform us of your withdrawal from this contract, to us or to (here you may insert the name and address of the person authorized by you to receive the goods, if applicable). The deadline is met if you send the goods before the fourteen-day period has expired. You bear the direct costs of returning the goods. You only have to pay for any loss in value of the goods if this loss in value is due to handling them in a way that is not necessary for checking their nature, characteristics, and functioning. - End of Withdrawal Information -

5. Prices and Shipping Costs

5.1. The prices listed on the product pages include the statutory value-added tax and other price components.

5.2. In addition to the listed prices, we charge for delivery within Germany 8€ (1 kg packages), 10€ (>1 kg to 10 kg), and 15€ (>10 kg) per shipped package. The shipping costs will be clearly communicated to you on the product pages, in the shopping cart system, and on the order page.

5.3. When paying by cash on delivery, an additional fee of 7 euros will be charged, which the delivery person collects on site. No further taxes or costs will apply.


6. Delivery

6.1. Delivery is only made within Germany using UPS, DPD, or DHL.

6.2. The delivery time is up to 5 days. We will indicate any differing delivery times on the respective product page.


7. Payment

7.1. Payment can be made either in advance or by invoice (companies, schools, universities).

7.2. If you choose the payment method of prepayment, we will provide you with our bank details in the order confirmation and deliver the goods after receipt of payment.


8. Retention of Title

Until full payment is made, the goods remain our property.


9. Warranty for Defects in Goods

Carolina Science GmbH is liable for material defects in accordance with the applicable legal provisions, particularly §§ 434 et seq. of the German Civil Code.


10. Dispute Resolution

The EU Commission has created an online platform for the resolution of disputes. The platform serves as a point of contact for the out-of-court resolution of disputes concerning contractual obligations arising from online purchase agreements.
